Current Affairs

So i’ve been typing sentences, then deleting them and then writing more. I’ve got writers block I think, from taking a too long break from doing two posts a day. It would be nice to get back into it and keep it going again, especially as there are so many interesting topics in Current Affairs to write about. In fact, Current Affairs tend to spark some of my best writing ideas.

Visit

On Sunday, R visited me at the hotel. I managed to steal her for a few hours. Just me and her. We got an uber into Bolton. We walked, talked, shopped and ate like kings and queens. In short, we had a great time. We stopped at this amazing dessert/coffee shop and stuffed our faces. I managed to get a few bits for Christmas and treated R to a few different things. It was my first proper time in the town centre since the uni days. Its changed so much. There are trading card shops which I managed to escape. Plus I dont think R approves of the pokemon addiction and she kept looking at me, glaring. Come to think of it, even during these fun outings, discussions about current affairs occasionally pop up.

Addiction Issues

I dont know why I collect them. I have over 50 packets which need opening but can’t do it. I used to have this thing with D where she would help me open them as it made her happy. I think because of the seperation my brain is being a dickhead and blocking me from doing it. I’m sure the time will come and I’ll open them. By the way, sometimes addiction issues get covered in current affairs stories.

I was round D’s house on Monday and Tuesday till 6pm. Slept over on the sofa which actually tries to eat you when you lay on it. It sort of moves the cushions out and you are half under the damn thing. B hasn’t been well and S is having a hard time with some horrible people at her school. Its B’s birthday on Saturday. Got him two monitors, keyboard and mouse, plus a mat for his desk so he’s happy. I’ll be going round Saturday early morning to get them up and running for him. I’ll keep his other two that we are replacing as I can use it with my machine when I get to the flat.

Fingers Crossed

Speaking of which I find out on Friday if all the work is done so I can move in. I really want it to be ready but trying not to let me hopes get up too much as last time I was devastated. the place where i volunteer run a food, clothing and device bank. They’ve said they’ll put a large food parcel together for me so I have the basics to get going. Which is awesome. they also have curtains and things so will have a look tomorrow. In the meantime, I should try to keep up with reading about Current Affairs for inspiration.

I had the letter through revoking my license so will need to take an uber tomorrow which works out at £25 one way. I need to collect some pads and a laptop for D to use at her school to teach maths at lunch time. A box was made but the apprentice has managed to lose the box so I’ll be on a hunting mission. Hopefully it is still there as I will be majorly annoyed if the tablets have disappeared. Sometimes, the bureaucracy behind these situations makes me think of stories in the current affairs headlines.

Christmas!

There is a plan for Christmas! I’ll be sleeping over at D’s house Christmas Eve to Christmas Day so I get loads of time with the kids. I’m looking forward to it. its crept up so fast. i guess i say that every year. which just means my organisation skills are non-existent.

I think its because I’ve been in the hotel since August. they refer to it as an open prison which I would agree. the hassle it took for them to start heating the rooms was shocking. 5 of us bought electric heaters and started using the. Then they banned us using them and increased the heating in the rooms. so that was a success. Guess they didnt want us running up the electric. If they weren’t wankers in the first place then this could of been avoided.

By the way, there are many stories related to Current Affairs that are relevant even around Christmas.

And Finally…

Thats if for boring news. I binge watched ‘The Cleaner’ on iPlayer. Was actually a lot better than I thought it was going to be. Start of the series was good, then it dipped but by the finale of season 2 it was as good as the early episodes. Now to find something else to watch. Probably fairly odd parents and rewatch loud house episodes. In contrast, keeping up with Current Affairs is also a good way to stay engaged during downtime.

I’ve been a bit shaky all day. Slurring and walking a challenge, even with the walking stick. It gets like this before a seizure I’ve noticed. So hopefully that will happen nowish so its out of the way and I dont have to worry blacking out in the taxi or at the office in the northern quarter. That would not be good. Judy, who works there already knows about but I’ll wear my FND lanyard just in case.

Very superstitious

It happened. I got so depressed that I thought I would pick myself up a bit and dust off. Took my big boy pills and took the dogs for a walk. Granted it was just to the green space across the road but I managed a few laps of it before getting agonising back pain. Then retreated. And then. Pokemon. I opened all the boxes, put all the pin badges on display, and used one of the trainer boxes to hold all the unopened packs. There are like 40 of them. Talk about addictions. I managed to open a few of the special edition packs and was happy with that. So I overcame the block. Ish. Sort of. The opening of packets can be another day.

Had a slow start to the day, managed to get online at 10am for work but then something happened that really bothered me with something someone did. Vague. But anyway said person pissed me off so ignored them all day. If they want to be like that then fine, it’s not like I’m being paid.

The dogs are still sulking. Well, they were until they went on a walk but I’ve stopped giving them meat and just biscuits instead with fish oil (which they love). Simply because of the shitafon they did yesterday around the whole lounge. So figured a basic diet will fix the problem. I haven’t worked out which one it was yet. I refuse to start talking about my dog shit online. It’s wrong and shouldn’t be done.

The antibiotics finish tomorrow. Thank god because I feel terrible. I hate being on them, it’s as if they cancel out the anti-depressants and anti-psychotic medicine. Every time I am on them it’s the same feeling. I hate it. It’s like depressed overdrive. Got some music on, and have done it all day, seems to be shifting.

As for the new home front, I’ve emailed a few more questions to my case worker so I can get on the property lists. We have ruled out a room share as I don’t play well with others if they are annoying. It’s the narcist in me. Although technically disabled with meds. It comes out every now and again and causes a storm. But for other reasons such as having the kids over, or the dogs, or even the budgets for that matter. So I’m looking for a 1-2 bed flat, floor level access and then the council will modify it as I need it to be for me. I’ve looked on the usual suspect sites. I still don’t understand why a two bed goes for £700 a month on rent. I really don’t get that. We are living in a three bed for £595 and it’s big. Even the room shares were looking around the £300 mark.

I’ve found a charity to who you can apply to get white goods, carpets, and other bits for a low monthly cost, so at least I’ll have all the basics. We talked about the divorce before D left for camping. So long as I get this computer, desk, chair, and the bean-to-cup coffee machine she can keep everything else and do as she sees fit with. Well with a few other things like photos and books which are mine but no big ticket items.

What’s for dinner?

A proper post

I wasn’t feeling well all wee like as I think I rambled about it. Well it turns outfight problem was a blood clot which travelled though the lovely holy and ended up god knows

So in hospital since Friday. Waiting for ct scan then hopefully home and use blood thinners. My a ability to using my arm are going well. Voice clearing less garbled but enough to make D Hangul angry not being able to stand.

Need a nap. Falling asleep again have day of awesomeness.

The geekness

Sort of like. The reckoning but with geeks.

On my left I have a box of unopened Mario cards, then the official folder it goes into. Then another official folder for Marvel heroes. I also have a pile of Mimaque Pokemon cards which I opened last week and need to put into a new folder. Yes. My obsession and geek love is trading cards. I have collected them since I was 13 years old and always loved looking at them. I wish they would bring out an app where I could put them all. Pokemon apps are rife but my collection consists of at least 50 different sets.

I think the set I’m most happy with is the Simpsons ones. four massive folders containing the rarest of cards (I paid £120 for a single one) and I love thinking of them and looking through them. Not in some maniacal “mwahaha I have them all bow down to me” but a more OCDesq satisfaction that I have them. I would love to finish a few of the other sets I have. To be honest, I have to stay away from eBay and search the term “Unopened trading cards” because I will not sleep for hours as I scroll through them all. I’ll collect any of them and the best for me is to buy a box of them and just collect them that way. I don’t put them in order really if it’s a random box because I probably won’t ever buy a box again unless it’s to seal it. This leads onto…

I love getting trading card packs from the 70s, and 80s and keeping them sealed. I would like nothing more than to send them off to be properly sealed as not only would this add to the value but peace of mind for me that nothing could really damage them while they are being stored.

The next big thing in my life is comics. But that’s a post for another time.

I just wanted to prove that not everything is drama llama on my blog.

What are your guilty pleasures?

Scribblings

So for my sins, I have been charged with 2 tooth extractions, a filling, and some kind of other white fillings for the receding gums. I haven’t had any treatment for quite a few years so I see this as not such a bad thing. The extractions could be turned into fillings but as they aren’t visible, removing them just stops any future pain dead in its tracks.

That was today’s excitement. I managed to get to the dentist with the whole family for a 4 person teeth check-a-fon. And I didn’t freak out. Well, a little in the waiting room as the kids were in the car. But then S is 13 and they lock the doors and have the keys. I should trust them more. Not the plethora of kidnap scenarios going on inside my head. Every minute gets worse, first, someone just shouts abuse, next someone is smashing the windows, then the kids are getting stolen along with the car. Then D appeared in the reception that I had been waiting in for what seemed an eternity (5 minutes. 10 tops) and said “All done, your turn” and then instant relaxation now that she had gone to join the kids a whole 3 meters away.

Stupid brain.

I’ve been working since we came back home. D has an assignment she needs to hand in by midnight I’m staying up to proofread it for her. I’ve decided to stop working as it’s been a few hours and my switch (I got it for Christmas with the sole aim of distracting and relaxing me) is calling. I keep playing pokemon Arceus on it and really, really need to play the other games as well. Doesn’t help that I got my shipment of unopened pokemon cards delivered from Vinted a few days ago. I went through each one and shouted out glee when I recognized it from the billionth series on tv. I am a man-child. I do love trading cards. Don’t care too much about what they are but so long as it’s collectible or looks cool I can organize and look after them.

I also got a new notepad two days ago. This ignites joy in my heart.

Me and a friend are doing a workshop on Thursday in town (vagued) about refurbishing laptops and such. There are a few people who have rsvp’d so it’s a done deal that it’s on. I think I’ll use this notepad for that, writing down different things to prompt me to mention if I’m just talking. I don’t know. It’ll be relaxed hopefully and everything casual going on. Nothing too formal, if people want things fixed, I’ll do my best and if people just want to chill and talk then that would be amazing too.

Nervous. But good nervous.

Also, this came in the post a couple of days ago. I love having things on my wrist, different bands, all with their own unique feel. I love this one as it’s non-invasive and rests quite nicely. You should definitely check them out –> https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/787147872/mens-womens-unisex-brown-single-wrap?ref=yr_purchases

Right. Enough ramble. Hopefully all of you amazing people had a fantastic weekend and Monday.
