Tuesday. A step closer to the weekend.

I never quite understood work politics. It has always been something that I’ve steered clear of, however, I seem to get drawn into it more and more to protect my staff. Its the blame culture that I disagree with so much. I never quite understood why someone couldn’t stand up and proclaim “It was me, I made the mistake”, learn from it (depending on severity) and move on. Instead, people have to be devious and calculating which causes so much more hassle and messes with the office ‘karma’. Leaving certain people in a corner where they have to correct the mess.

I’ve learned quite well to try and split personal and work into two different boxes. I’m a firm believer in ‘clocking’ off whenever you possibly can. A lot of my role, means working 12 hour days, so I try and take the breaks whenever I can, seriously. Its spilled into my personal life a few times now, with disasterous consequences. It is always quite terrifying, my work persona is 100% different to how I act in ‘real life’. When there was a snow day at the start of the year, I had to work from home. Co-ordinating staff whilst I was repairing the telecoms system remotely caused me to go into work mode. I could only appologise to J’s dropped face as she heard me shouting down the phone, rallying troops and arguing with various site engineers. My work persona is a twat. Arrogant, determined, very outspoken and outgoing. It has to be that way for me to survive and ‘get up the ladder’. It work’s quite well, and I know for a fact I wouldn’t be where I am now without it.

Fortunately, the people that matter to me at work know who I am. Probably through one of the ‘IT thank you days’ where I take the select few out for lunch on me. I like those afternoons out. The one time where I pull rank and give everyone an hour and a free lunch. Also part of why I love doing the catering at work for the meetings, its fun & relaxing. I can also try out different foods for people, except vegitarians, and its a way of getting along with everyone.

It made me feel better typing that out. Work is a huge part of my life at the moment, something which I know I need to seperate a bit better to free up my life a bit more. Its a vicious cycle because it will involve hiring more people to delegate to, then spend my days buried in paper work which is something I loathe. Helping with new marketing ideas, programming and creating core systems is something I enjoy more.

And cooking. I should open a bakery. Or a resturant, although bakery would be fantastic because I could bake things all day. I’m aware there is probably more to it than that. Ok. So a bakery in Whitby or Scarborough, with a house and a seaview and I’ll be quite content.

Complete subject change now. Yesterday after I posted I started looking at photos on the laptop. I noticed a few of JD when he was a puppy. It still amazes me how massive he is now. Own orbiting planets and everything!

I now miss JD. I think Mollymisses JD, she is currently gazing out of the sliding door things, waiting for a cat to appear. Bark and then give me a heart attack. On purpose because that is what she loves to do.Tea I think. Tea for all. And come dine with me. Both good things!

Whitby… again

So we are back from the holiday we had in Whitby. Actually we came back a couple of weeks ago but I’ve not had the time to upload the pictures. So I forced myself to remember to take them this morning. Huzzah. The holiday was good, although ended up needing to be a bit longer. The weather couldnt have been better as it was blue skies everyday which was great. Ok so the tempreture was still low, but wrapped up in a coat, hat and scarf, you bearly notice it šŸ™‚

When we got there we went straight out to Whitby. The waves that were crashing were insane. I dont know if you can see it in the pictures but was spraying water everywhere. Which was fun actually heh. The next picture is of the lighthouse at the end of the pier thing. Oh then more waves crashing over and then the beach the next day. That little black dot would be mo.

As you can see molly had an awesome time. The second day was better because the waves died down so at least she could have a swim in the sea. J took this awesome picture, with the panoramic thing on. Look, blue sky!! Then we drove along to a place called ‘Sandsend‘. I was busy protesting J taking my picture and didnt realise a big wave was coming in, so its a genuine look of suprise heh. Ohhh then we went to um end, something end, or something with sand in the title. There were surfers trying to go out to surf but they kept falling off. We stayed for what must have been an hour waiting for one of them surf so J could take the perfect shot. It didnt happen.

The panoramic is at the end of the pier soyou should be able to make out a few of the surfers. Annnd that is a wave hitting the end of the pier. Was quite funny every time it hit the pier the whole thing started shaking! Molly was itching to jump in. Third picture is of some limpets. Its true, its next to impossible to break them off the rock. Oh and Elvis made an appearance in the cottage there.

And then on the last night, while molly was trying to sleep, we decided to torment her with a teddy. See look its whispering sweet nothings in her ear!!! And then gave up. And then we got busted and she glared at us.

On the way there we were stuck in traffic so JĀ  started messing around with the camera. The second one is of the new part of the Traff. Finally the last two are of the ever changing lounge.

Thats about it really. Awesome time had, just a shame it went by so quickly! Anyways, hope everything in world is good.

My Car

Its quite sad that I’m a little sad. I just left my car at the garage around the corner from work. I feel sad because if it costs more than Ā£300 for the MOT I’ll have to scrap it and get another one. Meh. Silly how you become attached to inaminate objects heh.

Monday we are going to Whitby and I can’t wait. I dont care that its forecasted to be freezing cold, its just going to be nice to be 100’s of miles away from everyone and spend some time with J and Molly. I dont think we will be paddling in the sea just yet though. Although shopping and walking about dressed in lots of jumpers should be good. Plus it will be good exercise, something I badly need at the moment!

On the subject of exercise, I’ve done very little since we moved house. That was like six months ago. This doesnt bode well for my tummy. Every time I’ve worked myself up into training I manage to talk myself out of it. Actually the cold air does. Waking up at 7am with a ‘go go go’ attitude only to feel a cold breeze once my leg touches the bedroom floor seems to be the fundemental problem. Straight back to sleep. Then I manage to feel guilty for the whole day.

I’ll hopefully get into the pattern again soon enough. I suppose it is a good sign as it means I’m content.

Just realised I’ve demanded we have pizza tonight.

That can’t help matters heh.

Its winter, get over it!

I still cant understand why people are complaining so much about the cold. Ok, I’m included in this as much as anyone. Its winter, I find it nice that for once the seasons are sticking to their strong points. It should be cold, it should be snowing and people should be making snowmen at every corner. Then if we follow that logic, the summer should be beautiful and lots of sun burn should ensue.

I haven’t posted in a while, probably because I’ve let work get the better of me lately and I’ve missed all my lunch breaks for a long time. That is usually when I get around to doing a post. Things are going well so far this year (touch wood) and hopefully they will stay that way.

The house is coming along great. We have a fantastically awesome couch now. Although it was a huge pain in the bum to get it sorted as we paid cash, and then they took months to deliver it. Arggh and what not. But it came, before Christmas, and are bums were so happy to have a proper place to sit. We also got a dining table which was used copiously over the festive period, which was lovely. Throw in a bookcase, dvd racks and some awesome canvas art from J and the house is finally taking shape.

Christmas was a lovely affair. I think what did it was that we have are own place now, so we didnt have to travel everywhere on Christmas day and just sit in one location whilst everyone came to us! I also got to cook and hide in the kitchen which was great and enjoyed it.

The new year so far was good. We got snowed in for a couple of days, which would have been great had it not been for server death at work and trying to fix that remotely. J also got to see my work persona, which is quite strict and shouty at people, but then I have to be.

On Valentines day I wisked J away to Blackpool for a picnic on the beach. Ok, we had it in the car because it was so cold outside, it was still nice and think she enjoyed it too. Molly loved it as she got to have her first run at the sea for year. When we got back I made a two course meal and then proposed back to J. So technically I couldnt propose as she did this first but blah. So she now has an engagement ring. We havent set a date yet or anything like that, but am sure we’ll set one soon once jobs are sorted.

So without futher delay here is an army of pictures covering whats been going on since I last posted:

(1) Pepi decided to help when we were unpacking by building a fort and commanding the troops from there. (2) This is the dutch pancake house back in wales that we go to far to often. (3) We went to whitby at the start of december for a couple of days to stay at the cottage, we stopped by York on the way to do some christmas shopping and they had this pretty tree in the middle of a square. They also had people dressed up as vikings heh! (4) This is a good example of why you shouldnt take pictures of people unawares.I have no idea why I look miserable but its in Whitby, I was cold and it was Christmas.

(1) Scarborough harbour in all its prettyness. (2) We bought molly a coat which made her all snug and warm, dont think she likes it but I find it adorably cute! (3) On the penny arcade thing, where you put 2p’s in? well we put loads in and won a couple of mystery prizes. The guy who was minding the place pulled out a bag of simpsons stuffed toys and I almost died from Glee! so we ended up getting itchy and scratchy. (4) Not sure if its come out right but its a panoramic shot of the hole of horcum. A pretty place we stopped at on the way back to Manchester.

(1) The pretty Christmas tree and not so pretty me on the phone. (2) View from Ikea and first proper snow of the year! Little did we know that much much more would follow! (3) This is the church near our house, looks pretty till J waved her arm over one of the spot lights and killed it. (4) This is the graveyard. I like graveyards, always nice to walk through.

(1) J made a snowman. The glitter still haunts the garden and blows about in the wind. (2) Christmas day and the roast I made. (3) We went to see J’s mum in Preston and walked there insanely strong dog Sasha. (4) Oh another panoramic shot of where we walked about in Preston. (5) A fixer upper of a boat!
The reason why I had a couple of days off! The car wouldnt even budge from the space as the snow was half way up the bloody wheel. Very pretty though and we went for an awesome walk at lunch time. Then crap happened at work. Blah.

(1) You can see how deep the snow was on J’s welly thingies! (2) Pretty view. (3) More pretty views of the train line near where we live. (4) We managed to get back to Wales at the start of the year and I decided to make a snowangel on the mountain. The snow was ice and it hurt heh. Ohh look at my beard. Lazyness!

This is the graveyard where J’s granddad in buried and we try and visit once a month. J is playing stealth cat with the tree. (2) Panoramic. You can tell that this function with the camera is yay. (3) Jmade a cross stitch of a tiger which was raar. (4) Molly in blackpool looking expectantly with her beloved frisbee thing.

Funfair!Where is the rest of it?Blackpool Tower under FogMen at workMe and Molly

(1) Pleasure beach thingie in blackpool! (2) J found a dead person in the skip. (3) Blackpool tower hiding in the mist. (4) People playing with a boat. (5) Me playing with molly on th beach trying to pursuade her to run up and see J. It didnt work.

And thats about it. There are loads more photos I still need to put on but then they would get lost if I I put them all on now, so I’ll save them for a post later. I also still want to put up all the stuff from when Santa proposed heh.

So hope everyone is good and life is happy. I just got my bueno bar delivered so will commence face stuffage.

I should really avoid avoiding typing up what's been going on the past couple of weeks and just make myself sit down and do it. It can be very annoying being easily distracted by things. Magpies ain't got shit on me! hmm that could be meant in multiple ways.

The three of us (Me, Jen and Wog) went on holiday to a gorgeous cottage in Whitby. When we left it was really foggy but as we passed Leeds and all those grim places the weather started to brighten up. By the time we got in there it was absolutely amazing. We didn't have a single day of bad weather during the whole stay.

So top left is from the harbour in Whitby. We had lunch there and I dreamed of owning a boat and sailing about. They even had one for sale but I'm poor. Which is lame. I should have a boat. Granted it would end up being a scene out of friends where I wouldn't know what to do and spend all day sat in the boat eating sandwiches with it still in the dock. The second picture  is of the view across the harbour and you can see Whitby abby where dracula came to shore. Um then a picture of the sign for the abby. God knows why I took that one. And Woggy. Because she kept lookout while I played on the swing in the back garden of the cottage flat thing.

Oh turns out Captain Cook was born there!!! I always thought he was a pirate. Who knew. On a random day out we went to a place called Robin Hood Bay which had a dinosaur fossil shop which Jen loved. She even got me a little geode from there which is awesome.  Annnnd then she decided to get eaten by a wave. But survived. Was cute watching Molly be scared of the waves. I was throwing stones in for her and she'd dive after them. This other dog joined in which was so awwww think I have a picture…

..heh she would sit there waiting. So I'd have to throw one for Moll then another for this dog so Molly wouldnt be posessive.

Oh oh and paddling times! Proof that both me and Jen went in the seeeeeeeeaa!!!

The first picture is the cottage-flat thing we stayed at. The garden was huge which molly loved since she could run around alot. Although most of the time she was tired out from running on the beach. Saying that we were all tired. It made such a nice change to be able to go back somewhere and just nap or watch cheesy tv and have the dog there. Wayyy better than a hotel.Plus I could cook which also made the stay win. Oh um the third picture across is the view looking out from the flat, in that direction is the airforce base thingie where the early warning system shield thingie is and you could see lots of fighter jets potting about. Annnnd thats wog having TV times with us.

Thats the swing I liked sitting on and um swinging? oh then molly having a break on the beach annnnnnnnnd thats on the nearly last day as it was windy and we went to a shop in the village of the damned. And then went to this resturant in the evening for a fancy meal. It was so nice the portions were huge. When they first brough it out it looked tiny but then they gave us this huge platter with different fresh veg and things on it and are tummys when nyeeehhhbaaah or something along those lines.

Annnd finally. One day I'll own one of these. Yay for pirateness!

It was a really nice holiday. Really relaxing and work didn't call me once which was first. So it only took a couple of weeks after the holiday to write this up. I also missed things since this is the third time I'm typing this because the computer keeps crashing.

The only badness that happened was Jen's camera broke so we were left camera less. We ended up using a trick I used before. Went to the local jessops, got the best camera they had, made sure they have a 14 day money back refund thing. And voila. Camera for the week we were there, so long as you don't take the stickers off heh. Really good camera as well, then it costing Ā£270 it bloody should be. Felt a bit cheeky taking it back the weekend when we got back but desperate times call for desperate measures.

The easter weekend was good too. Managed to sort out my sleeping problems now as since about a week before the holiday I just couldn't sleep due to bad thoughtage and memories. But herbal sleeping tablets are starting to really work now. Not a good solution but will do till I finally get registered here in Manchester rather than Wales.

Oh. yesterday Jen sent me a text saying she got me a present. When I got back she gave me a box of different cards so I can annoy people. One for every occasion. These were yay in themselves but then she gave me another. And it was a complete set of knifes for the kitchen which I can't wait to use since I stocked up the baking cupboard last night.

*checks phone* its being lame again so will have to take another picture of shiney goodness. But I was so happy, and still am, might sound silly to you lot but that means alot to me and yay!!

*hugs for all* oh and less than a week to DC šŸ™‚

And with a bit of luck this should work….

And if you click super-molly am sure it will show you all the pictures.

No I didn't throw her. She was diving after sand that Jen was flicking up with her foot.

Shall do another post later as Jen bought me a collection of professional cooking knifes which are the definition of awesome and come in a proper rolling out bag and sad me took pictures šŸ™‚
