The birthday

On Friday I was due to collect the keys for the flat. They delayed it for a 4th time, now it’s 15/01. I must admit I wasn’t expecting to to be read. I think the same thing will happen in the new year, especially since my birthday is coming up soon and I was hoping to have moved in by then. My birthday being so close adds to the frustration of all these delays. I’ve left a message with my housing officer to see if I can switch onto another property as this is really starting to grate. I’ve been in temporary accommodation since 17th August. Its 16th December. Ridiculous.

B’s birthday

Today was B’s birthday. I got there for 8.30am so I wouldn’t miss the present opening. He was really happy with his monitors, keyboard and mouse and headphones. Fast forward 30mins. Screaming, banging and hitting his desk. This was because the monitor was 0.5cm off on the hight. It was ridiculous. Full on screaming fit. Took the new monitors off himi and installed the ones he replaced. He started slapping his face, hitting his legs and pulling his hair out. Sounds like adhd. He’s okay now, i think, D took them to an arcade place in Bury. All the arcade machines, one fee and you can play to your hearts content. If it wasn’t for my shit brain I would of gone.

I had a seizure yesterday which has really knocked me for 6, I woke up dizzy and unable to stand without the stick. As I was mostly sitting down at D’s it was easily managed till I fell in the bathroom. On another note, since my birthday is getting closer, I’m anxious about my recovery and the timing of everything. So now i have this thing where I worried to leave the room this I’m okay again. I can get to the garage next door if I speed shop and get back inside of 10 minutes. I *really* needed that flat to be ready. I can get carers to help again and things would be a bit easier.

Seizures. All day. ALL day.

Talk about relentless all day, the seizures were constant and I couldn’t do a thing about them. Each seizure left me more exhausted than the last. I had two in the morning, which left me in bed as they came with paralysis on my left hand side. Then another one at 6 pm, which is why I’m finding it so hard to type things out. So why do a post? Stubborn, mostly. Since I was bedridden, I slept on and off all day, so my body clock is out. It’s 2.52 am here.

So, I’m feeling better about the divorce and the fact that, at least on my part, we are still friends. Even if it’s for the kids’ sake, they are old enough to understand. Besides, they get an extra birthday, extra Christmas. I’m still around a few days every week. Ugh, this is annoying. Whenever I type, it’s missing letters. Hopefully, the spell check will find them. Additionally, I’ve realized how my seizure sometimes makes writing difficult for me.

The jerking is still the most annoying side of this whole thing. Imagine someone following you who randomly pushes your arms out. A single sudden seizure episode can cause me to lose control unexpectedly. So reaching for a drink makes you tip it out or drop food. All sorts, so you just say sorry all the time; I hate it.

I’ll stop before the rambling gets worse. By the way, living with seizure effects is undoubtedly frustrating.

Midlife Madness

So today is my birthday!

40 years, never in a million years did I think I would make it to this milestone. Despite trying my best to kill myself multiple times, I am somehow still here. I find that cause to celebrate. A subway with all the toppings is en route.

I got cards this morning and S made me some stickers to use. I had a meeting with a few people this morning to do with mental health. They are going to put a few things in place to help out. I had to show them my arm with all the bruising from the past few days. They said that when it turns into killing myself then call the emergency services. Because obviously, you think of doing that when you are in the ‘zone’. I guess they have to tell you that just in case you do something so they are covered.

They’ve arranged a big meeting in September where all my caseworkers are being assembled to see if they have sorted my housing and mental health things out. It’s an accountability meeting with 7 people on the must-attend list. That petrifies me, but the social worker this morning reassured me about it. It’s a good meeting not a bad one and if I don’t want it all at once I can separate it. He is also going to chase up the housing officer who has been assigned my case to see what steps he is taking to make things happen. Basically, I need a place to live. Then everything else will fall into place.

R remembered it was my birthday and sent me wishes. This made me happy.

I’ll probably do a QOTD since I love doing them, later.

…

40 more years. Christ.
